So for no reason in particular, I had been asking myself what was up with the recent surge of Celtic and Anglo-Saxon names? Suddenly names like Aidan and Jayden and Kayden and Hayden and Brayden are showing up on the most popular list. Meanwhile, the archetypal Celtic name (that Yours Truly shares) ranks a mere #72. And Ashton (#84)? I see thousands of bitter teenagers a couple decades from now.
Well, here's a list of my top 7 Favorite Baby Names:
Of course, if it a first boy, it'd have to be Optimus Prime.
I like the idea of naming my firstborn son Collan Danger, so that he can say "Danger is my middle name!"
If I knew the name Aidan would be on the Top #5 names on that list, I would probably have picked something else, or use his middle name as his first name instead. Darn.
hell yeah! im aidan, and ive only ever met one other before...but in the future im going to be some kind of village elder for all the new aidans out there, teaching them to how do deal with the "aidan ha-as AIDS" crap and what not when they get to school... BUT i can only hope it hasnt become a famous name because of sex and the city.
Apologies to piggy if I uhhh accidentally besmirched her boy's good name. Well, my rant is not really about "Aidan" at all; it's a pretty good, sturdy name, and I'm not well versed enough in HBO programming to understand the cultural reference. No, it's more about the knock-off Aidans - the Jaydens, Kaydens, Claydens, etc. As if people thought they were fooling anybody!
